Christmas 2009 Great cottage; fantastically well equipped and in a good location.

Just right for a quiet holiday but within reach of sandy beaches. Christmas touches were a lovely and thoughtful surprise.

Three adults and two dogs thoroughly recommend the cottage.

A wonderful place to come home to after walking in Exmoor.

Contemporary and high standard of quality facilities, fixtures, fittings, etc.

Hard to find in holiday cottages, but delighted we found it!

You have really thought of any detail to make us feel as home here, including our two “girls” (dogs!).

Also, your warmth and hospitality really made us feel welcome.

Even the weather was being extremely merciful and we enjoyed numerous walks – in nearby area but also Braunton Burrows and Lydford Gorge, where we spent hours waling with the dogs.

Thanks for your tip about the restaurant in Normans land, it was absolutely fabulous.

Thanks for a wonderful midweek in North Devon. We enjoyed the comfort of Orchard Cottage, the fresh flowers and the red wine.

The kids loved the chickens and the dog.

For us, it was BBC’s “Spring Watch” life, with a badger on the road on the first day, and the swallows twittering in the evening outside.

We enjoyed outings to Rosemoor Garden, Waterswet/Lynton, Ilfracombe, Woolacombe Beach – all highly recommended.

Wonderful week, quiet and peaceful, lovely wind down

Enjoyed bird watching and walking with the dogs along river Dart.

It’s best cottage we have every been in, weather was fine and made most welcome.

The weather came good and we saw North Devon at its glorious best. A really relaxing time. Saffie enjoyed all her early morning wanders to the pond and back, but didn’t take to the ruby reds (chickens)!

I have really enjoyed my stay at Orchard Cottage. It is beautiful and clean and is furnished beautifully. My sister and I loved the swing and orchard, which were so much fun to play in!

Orchard Cottage and the surroundings are so amazing, I definitely want to come back!

We have really enjoyed our stay at Orchard Cottage

It is really comfortable home-from-home. Our children enjoyed themselves immensely, particularly the ‘upside down’ house as they like to call it. They didn’t want to leave because they have had so much fun. Alun enjoyed the quite country roads to go running, each time the routes went from ‘hilly’ to ‘very hilly’, a niche challenge for him! It is such a beautiful peaceful place.

Orchard Cottage has been a perfect haven from downpours (the first week) and a wonderful place to relax in the sun (second week). Add to that John and Jenny’s wonderful hospitality and some great day trips (and one great evening in the Mason’s Arms) and its really been a holiday we don’t want to end.

What could have been a disastrous half-term holiday with our son getting chicken pox, turned into a fantastic week! We have discovered ‘Devon’ and will certainly want to come back again.

The boys have had a great time – especially getting soaking wet at Westward Ho! It was lovely to be so close to the moors and the sea and many attractions, and then come back every evening to this wonderful house.
